House Republicans withdraw Trumpcare bill

Tens of thousands of UltraViolet members were a part of the national movement to defeat Trumpcare–legislation that would repeal the Affordable Care Act and create 24 million more uninsured people. House Republican leadership withdrew the bill after weeks of pressure from millions of people around the country. Andrew Puzder withdraws nomination

UltraViolet joined a huge, nationwide effort that dealt a huge blow to Donald Trump’s administration. His awful pick for U.S. Labor Secretary, Andrew Puzder–known for his company’s sexist and labor abuses of workers–was forced to withdraw his name for consideration after hundreds of thousands of people, including 66,000 UltraViolet members, resisted.

NBC fires Billy Bush over tapes

After The Washington Post reported audio of the tapes in which Donald Trump and The Today Shows’ Billy Bush were heard making horrific remarks about women, over 12,000 UltraViolet members quickly demanded that NBC fire Bush and a petition was launched less than 24 hours later. He was formally fired less than two weeks later.
