2022 ULTRAVIOLET PAC ENDORSEMENTS
Stacey Abrams
Running for Governor of Georgia
Stacey’s never stopped fighting for Georgia, never lost faith that we can build a brighter future for all of us.
Stacey Abrams represents the epitome of what we want in political leadership and is fighting against an extreme Republican agenda in a battleground state in 2022. She is changing the rules of political engagement in Georgia and across the country, and is not scared to push up against the establishment and challenge the gun lobby. Georgia is still ground zero for voting rights, and Stacey Abrams is known as the voting rights champion, shaking up the establishment from the ground up and working tirelessly to change the unjust rules of our democracy. She sets the standard for gubernatorial leadership, and that veto pen is going to make a real, tangible difference in the lives of so many Georgians. Abrams would be the first Black woman governor in the country if elected.
Deidre DeJear
Running for Governor of Iowa
Deidre DeJear is fighting to flip a seat from Republican incumbent Kim Reynolds, who has a massive fundraising edge in this critical race in Iowa.
Reynolds is an extremist who called for an amendment stating that the Iowa Constitution does not grant the right to an abortion. A DeJear administration would significantly impact Iowan’s lives by stopping the passage of abortion bans and bills targeting trans youth in this critical moment of attacks on both. DeJear could be the country’s first Black woman governor if elected.
Tina Kotek
Running for Governor of Oregon
Tina Kotek would become the first openly lesbian governor in the country if she wins. She has a long and distinguished tenure of public service advocating for the state’s most vulnerable, including working-class families, communities of color, and LGBTQ+ Oregonians.
Kotek would also put Oregon on a path to 100% clean electricity by 2040, including a $50 million investment to jump-start wind, solar, and other community renewable energy projects that will create jobs in Oregon. Meanwhile, Republican candidate Christine Drazan has never shied away from her anti-abortion values. Oregon is established as a haven for abortion rights, providing access at no cost to Oregonians and creating a fund for out-of-state patients who can’t obtain care in their own states. All of that is at risk in this election. Kotek will continue to preserve Oregon’s support for abortion rights even as they are compromised nationally, and she will be a beacon for equity and inclusion.
Mandela Barnes
Running for U.S. Senate from Wisconsin
Mandela Barnes is our best bet to get rid of Ron Johnson and his dangerous mix of climate denying, misogynistic, transphobic leadership in the Senate.
Barnes, the son of a teacher and a third shift UAW worker, has emerged as a champion on the environment, the economy, education, racial justice, and health care–as well as a national leader on gun violence prevention. His advocacy for reproductive justice stems from his own mother’s termination of her first pregnancy. Barnes is not taking any corporate PAC money and is a key player to abolish the filibuster and protect bodily autonomy in Wisconsin.
Cheri Beasley
Running for U.S. Senate from North Carolina
Cheri Beasley is planning not only to send Trump-endorsed Ted Budd packing, but also to make history by flipping the state blue as North Carolina’s first Black U.S. Senato.
Beasley is an ardent supporter of abortion rights. Her campaign states “In addition to repealing the Hyde Amendment, she supports the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would codify Roe v. Wade and protect reproductive rights so that women can get the care they need no matter where they live.” With a majority of both the North Carolina House and Senate against reproductive rights and no legal provisions in the state constitution or laws codifying abortion access, Beasley will be a critical voice for reproductive justice in the South. Cheri will also fight to protect DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and keep promises to DREAMers.
Charles Booker
Running for U.S. Senate from Kentucky
Taking on Rand Paul’s massively funded re-election campaign and with a Republican majority among registered voters, Charles Booker is boldly standing for all the things UltraViolet PAC represents.
Booker is a lifelong resident of Louisville’s West End, growing up in what has been one of the poorest Zip Codes in Kentucky. He founded Hood to the Holler, a grassroots organization to break down barriers between Kentuckians and their government. In April 2022, Booker joined protesters at the Kentucky State Capitol in anticipation of Republican lawmakers overriding Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto of a sweepingly restrictive abortion bill. In the Kentucky House of Representatives, he spoke out against the latest anti-abortion bill–and went online to share a nuanced and intersectional understanding of the need for reproductive justice across Kentucky. His platform and voice are powerfully progressive.
Greg Casar
Casar’s platform and progressive views set the bar high on what is possible for political leadership.
Taking on Rand Paul’s massively funded re-election campaign and with a Republican majority among registered voters, Charles Booker is boldly standing for all the things UltraViolet PAC represents.
If Casar wins, it will send a message that Texans are ready to stand up and fight back in Congress against attacks on reproductive rights, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ rights, while pushing for an ambitious vision on climate. Casar is a former labor and immigrant rights organizer who as Austin City Council Member, authored successful laws around paid sick leave that passed in Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas. The Austin-American Statesman called this achievement the “most progressive labor policy for the entire state and possibly the American South.” Casar is very outspoken about reproductive justice, and plans to do everything he can to undo Governor Abbott’s worst laws.
Jasmine Crockett
Running for U.S. Congress from Texas’ 30th Congressional District
Jasmine Crockett is a rising national star with strong progressive values, who is not afraid to organize walkouts to fight voter disenfranchisement
Crockett has said, “If I can effectively kill a bad abortion bill, a bad voter suppression bill or a bad gun law, that will do more for those in my district” and hasn’t stopped there. Her voting and bill co-authoring record demonstrates her focus on passing the much needed legislation to begin achieving racial equality. Crockett has been a champion for reproductive rights as well as a fierce advocate for working families. These values are all part of her bold progressive vision for Texas, and the country. With a governor and state legislature opposing abortion access, we need an outspoken and intersectional advocate for bodily autonomy like Crockett.
Brittany Ramos DeBarros
Running for U.S. Congress from New York’s 11th Congressional District
Brittany Ramos DeBarros is an Afro-Latina Staten Islander, community organizer, LGBTQ+ woman of color, and anti-war combat veteran.
Borrowing from iconic Black Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, her campaign slogan is “Unbought. Unbossed. Unafraid” and she’s got a good chance of flipping an important seat and replacing it with a solid progressive agenda. She is running against the awful Trumper Republican Nicole Malliotakis who cast a vote refusing to certify legitimate presidential election results, even after insurrectionists invaded the Capitol on January 6. Arrested while protesting the US mistreatment of migrants at the US-Mexico border, Debarros boldly stands behind her values and would shake things up in Washington, pushing for progressive policies including a Green New Deal and Medicare for All.
Support Brittany Ramos DeBarros
Maxwell Frost
Running for U.S. Congress from Florida’s 10th Congressional District
Maxwell Frost has been arrested for voting rights and Black Lives, and he’s ready to take on the NRA to truly address the gun violence epidemic this country faces. Frost, at 25 years old, would be the first Gen Z Congressional representative and will continue to organize to protect abortion access and LGBTQ+ rights.
As a national organizer with the ACLU, he pushed Joe Biden to agree to abolish the Hyde Amendment. Besides his strong stance on reproductive justice, Frost is a champion for voting rights and democracy, and continues to be a fierce advocate for Medicare for All and a Green New Deal. Frost’s work is about “Working people. Young people. Our elders. Queer, nonbinary, and trans folks. Black, Brown, and Indigenous folks” and he’s got a bold progressive platform and is building national recognition and fundraising power. He’s the kind of fresh new perspective we need.
Summer Lee
Running for U.S. Congress from Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District
Summer Lee is an intersectional progressive who connects the issues and connects with voters. She is running on a strong platform of environmental and social justice issues in a state where there are no laws protecting abortion rights.
Lee has vowed to support universal childcare and defend access to reproductive healthcare, including the right to abortion. She has called Pennsylvania’s record on women’s healthcare appalling, and one of the worst in the nation, which is why she supports the Pennsylvania Agenda for Women’s Health. She formed UNITE PAC to support other candidates who can speak genuinely on issues like poverty, immigration, criminal justice, and rights for LGBTQ+ and disabled people. She’s a candidate that we can really get behind, an unapologetic and authentic political leader.
Delia Ramirez
Running for U.S. Congress from Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District
Fresh off her primary win, Delia Ramirez is a progressive Latina champion whose personal story, voting record and experience as a community organizer, as well as her strong platform on a wide range of progressive issues make her an exceptional candidate in the 2022 election.
Ramirez is a lifelong Chicagoan and the daughter of immigrants, she understands the intersectional nature of this election, what’s at stake and clearly and directly shares her stance on critical issues. Ramirez is ready to fight for abortion rights, with an understanding that bodily autonomy is undoubtedly linked to economic security and freedom. As more progressive Democrats like Ramirez beat the more well funded middle of the road status-quo candidates, we see the opportunity to push for our political values and elect candidates because they stand for the critical changes we need to see in Washington, DC and all across this country.

Josh Shapiro
Governor of Pennsylvania
Josh has been a strident defender of reproductive rights and a woman’s right to choose. He has taken on the Trump Administration to protect access to birth control and fought about against the “domestic gag rule.” Pennsylvania needs a champion like him to keep the veto pen in Harrisburg to protect abortion freedom.
Steve Sisolak
Governor of Nevada
Steve is proud to stand for reproductive freedom. As Governor, he signed legislation decriminalizing abortion and removing outdated practices that made it harder for Nevadans to receive the care they needed. We need to keep champions like him in office!

Jennifer continues to fight for reproductive freedom for all. This summer, she voted for the Women’s Health Protection Act and she is a co-sponsor of the Right to Contraception Act. It is critical we keep representatives like her in Congress!
Kathryn Manning
NC-6
Kathy is the reproductive rights supporter we need from North Carolina in Congress, Kathy cosponsored and voted in favor of the Women’s Health Protection Act. She pledges to never stop fighting to ensure that women can make their own health care decisions, free from government interference.
Elissa Slotkin
MI-8
Elissa states on her website that, “When women succeed, families succeed, and communities succeed.” We couldn’t agree more. Elissa supports reproductive freedom, including the Women’s Health Protection Act, and we need to keep her abortion freedom vote in Congress.
Raphael Warnock
U.S. Senate from Georgia
As a pro-choice pastor, Senator Reverend Warnock knows that abortion freedom is critical to justice and religious liberty. We need fighters like him in the U.S. Senate to fight back for our rights.
Mark Kelly

Mark is a co-sponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act and pledges to always defend and protect the right of women to make their own healthcare decisions. He is a critical advocate we need to keep in the Senate!

Support Catherine Cortez Masto
Tim Ryan

Tim believes that, “Every Ohioan should be able to access the health care that’s right for them, and that includes protecting the right to safe, legal abortion.” We agree! And that is why we need his vote in the U.S. Senate to build back abortion rights for Ohioans and all of us!
Michael Bennet
U.S. Senate from Colorado
Michael is a steadfast advocate for abortion freedom. After the Supreme Court overturned Roe, he supported the Freedom to Travel for Health Care Act to ensure Republican extremists can’t prevent people from traveling to get abortion care. He is also a supporter of the Women’s Health Protection Act.
ULTRAVIOLET PAC’S ENDORSEMENT CRITERIA
We used stringent criteria to determine which candidates to endorse, prioritizing candidates who met our high bar for supporting reproductive justice, racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, gun safety reform, and their defense of democracy. We analyzed their voting histories and on-the-record public statements around immigration, disability justice, climate justice, poverty, housing justice and healthcare. In addition, our endorsements prioritize candidates whose own identities and campaigns are making history with their powerful anti-racist and feminist platforms, and who aren’t scared to walk the talk and challenge the establishment.
