STATEMENT—Women’s Group: DCCC Should #BelieveWomen And Drop Cisneros From Red To Blue
In reaction to allegations of sexual harassment mounted against CA39 House candidate Gil Cisneros by CA State Assembly candidate Melissa Fazli, Shaunna Thomas, Co-Founder of UltraViolet Action, a leading national women’s group, issued the following statement:
“Sexual harassment is an epidemic that runs rampant across our political system, no matter which side of the aisle.
“If the DCCC truly wants to claim to promote candidates who are champions for women, it must have a zero tolerance policy for sexists in its ranks, and immediately withdraw its support of Cisneros and remove him from the party’s ‘Red to Blue’ program.”
