Women’s Group Calls Rep. Richmond’s Comment About Kellyanne Conway “Offensive, Wrong and Way Over-The-Line”
Rep. Richmond Said: “She Really Looked Kind of Familiar There in that Position There,” Referencing Viral Photo of Conway Sitting on the Couch in the Oval Office
Shaunna Thomas, Co-founder of UltraViolet, issued the following statement in response to Representative Cedric Richmond’s remarks at Wednesday’s annual Washington Press Club Foundation’s congressional dinner:
“We disagree with just about everything Kellyanne Conway does and says. She has at best a casual relationship with the truth and she has repeatedly defended a man who has been accused of sexual assault by numerous women. That being said, the comments by Congressman Richmond are offensive, wrong and way over the line. No woman deserves to be treated the way Congressman Richmond treated Conway. With so many legitimate things to criticize Conway on, stooping to such a sexist low is entirely unnecessary.”

Give for survivor justice taking flight!
While Donald Trump and Pam Bondi want to change the subject, we refuse to let them off the hook for protecting predators. That’s why we're flying airplane banners to keep Trump’s ties to child sex abuser and trafficker Jeffrey Epstein in the news. Epstein’s more than 1,000 survivors deserve transparency and justice. Your gift today will keep the spotlight on Trump’s and Bondi’s deflections and center survivors in the public narrative!
