Pressure Rising on Congress to Impeach Judge Who Beat Wife

WASHINGTON DC — With the news that the criminal charges against Judge Mark Fuller have been dropped, he is no longer being held accountable for assaulting his wife. He is still drawing a taxpayer funded paycheck, and now his criminal record has even been expunged.

Statement from UltraViolet Co-Founder Nita Chaudhary:

“Now more than ever, we need Congress to take a stand against domestic violence and impeach Alabama Judge Mark Fuller. It undermines the integrity of our government and our justice system to allow anyone to be above the law on domestic violence. Women are sick of waiting- it is time for House Judiciary Chair Bob Goodlatte to take action against domestic violence and impeach Mark Fuller immediately.”

More than 48,000 UltraViolet members have petitioned the House Judiciary Committee for Judge Fuller’s impeachment. This follows more than 80,000 UltraViolet members called for Fuller’s resignation in the initial unanimous outrage to his actions.

UltraViolet is running radio ads in the home districts of 5 top House Judiciary committee members pushing for immediate action on impeachment: Reps. Bob Goodlatte, Jim Sensenbrenner, Lamar Smith, Steve Chabot, and Darrell Issa.
