Action Marks Two Year Anniversary Since the Access Hollywood Tape Became Public
UltraViolet Action Urges Senate to Block the Elevation of Yet Another Man with a History of Sexual Assault into High Office
WASHINGTON, DC — On Thursday, October 4th, roughly two years since the Access Hollywood footage of now-President Trump bragging about sexual assault became public, UltraViolet Action, a leading national women’s advocacy organization, will run the footage on a non-stop loop via giant screen directly in front of the Capitol building, reminding Senators that the President is a self-professed serial sexual abuser attempting to elevate another sexual abuser—Brett Kavanaugh—into high office. The video explains that the Republican party is providing cover for men with histories of sexual assault, from Trump to Roy Moore and now Kavanaugh, while urging senators to vote ‘no’ on Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court—because the majority of the public believes survivors and will be voting in November.
UltraViolet Action will air the footage all day, starting at 9:00 am ET and running through 9:00 pm ET.

Last year, in commemoration of the one-year anniversary, UltraViolet ran the Access Hollywood footage on a non-stop loop near the White House and declared that women would continue to resist the Trump Administration and its policies that hurt women and dismantle protections for sexual assault survivors.
“Right now a self-admitted serial sexual abuser, threatening the lives of women every day with hatefully misogynistic policies from the White House, is trying to elevate like-minded sexual abuser Brett Kavanaugh to take away our rights from the Supreme Court,” said Shaunna Thomas, Executive Director and Co-founder of UltraViolet Action. “The Senate has a choice to make: They can either confirm the Supreme Court nominee hand-picked by the man who brags about sexually assaulting any woman he pleases, or listen to survivors and their constituents by stopping Kavanaugh. That is why we are showing the Access Hollywood video on loop in front of the Capitol to warn senators that come November, women will remember this vote and will gladly ‘grab back’ at the ballot box. That is a promise.”
