Women’s Group Demands the Sacramento Kings Immediately Suspend Coach Luke Walton; Launch Investigation Into Sexual Assault Allegations
NBA Coach Luke Walton Accused of Sexual Assault by Female Sports Reporter in Lawsuit
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA — Late last night, TMZ reported that Sacramento Kings coach Luke Walton is being sued for sexually assaulting Kelli Tennant, a sports reporter in his hotel room.
In reaction to the news, Shaunna Thomas, co-founder and executive director of UltraViolet, a leading national women’s group, issued the following statement calling on the Sacramento Kings to suspend Walton and launch an investigation into the allegations:
“We believe women and we believe Kelli Tennant. Sexual assault is never acceptable and we must demand more from people in positions of power and prestige. The Sacramento Kings must immediately suspend Luke Walton and launch a full and transparent investigation into the allegations against him.”
