Women’s Group: Expel Matt Gaetz from Congress for Child Sex Trafficking; But Accountablility Shouldn’t End There

UltraViolet Says “Enough is Enough” After Daily Beast Report Details Gaetz Associate Confessed He Was Paid by Matt Gaetz to Traffic Underage Girls for Sex

UltraViolet Says Gaetz Follows a Long Line of Republican Child Sexual Abusers and Enablers in Congress like Rep. Dennis Hastart and Rep. Jim Jordan

WASHINGTON, DC — According to a bombshell new report from The Daily Beast, Josh Greenberg, a long-time associate of Rep. Matt Gaetz confessed to Roger Stone that he was paid by Matt Gaetz to traffic underage girls for sex. The report details Greenberg’s confession to Roger Stone in a bid to seek a pardon for his own role in raping an underage girl and trafficking children for sex.

In reaction to the announcement, Elisa Batista, campaign director at UltraViolet, a national gender justice organization, issued the following statement demanding the immediate expulsion of Matt Gaetz from Congress:

“Child sexual abuse and child sex trafficking are appalling and horrific crimes that should never be tolerated by anyone, ever.

“While the Republican Party has long tolerated child sexual abusers and their enablers in its ranks – including Rep. Jim Jordan and former Republican House Speaker Dennis Hastert – their continued failure to take action demonstrates just how morally bankrupt today’s GOP is.”

“Enough is enough. It’s time for Matt Gaetz to be held accountable for his crimes. That starts with expelling him from Congress.”
