MINNESOTA — The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party is handing off a domestic violence claim against Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison to local authorities.
Shaunna Thomas, Executive Director of leading women’s advocacy group, UltraViolet, issued the following in response:
“We believe Karen Monahan. We believe survivors. Plain and simple.”
“Investigations—especially investigations by one’s own political party—are often stacked against survivors and used to discredit them. In this case, it is no surprise that this internal investigation by the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party came up short.”
