Women’s Rights Leader Pens Letter to NFL Executive Committee: ‘Fire Roger Goodell’

UltraViolet Say Goodell’s Gross Mishandling of Sexual and Domestic Violence Cases, and Poor Leadership on National Conversations of Race and Police Violence Demonstrate that Goodell Is Unfit to Serve as NFL Commissioner

In a new letter to the NFL Executive Committee, Shaunna Thomas, Co-Founder and Executive Director of UltraViolet, a leading national women’s group, is urging the NFL to replace Roger Goodell as NFL commissioner.

UltraViolet cites Goodell’s gross mishandling of sexual and domestic violence cases, as well as lackluster leadership on national conversations of race and police violence as the latest examples that show Goodell is unfit to continue in his role as NFL commissioner.

The letter explains that the NFL needs leadership that understands the importance of taking allegations of sexual and domestic violence seriously, and needs to use its unmatched influence in American culture to set an example on national conversations about race and police violence.
