Buying Makeup at Ulta? Flock’s AI Cameras Could Turn Your Beauty Run Into a Surveillance Record.
The campaign, led by women's rights organisation UltraViolet, is urging Ulta to cut ties with Flock Safety, whose AI-powered cameras can record vehicle number plates and where and when they are detected.
Although Flock Safety noted that the company had partnered with Ulta Beauty back in July 2025, the general public seems to have been made aware after a petition by Ultra Violet, a gender justice nonprofit that “works to create a more inclusive world for women and gender expansive people,” says Jenna Sherman, Ultra Violet’s campaign director whose work focuses on the intersection of tech and gender. The petition demands “that Ulta sever all ties with Flock and immediately shut off Flock cameras in Ulta parking lots.”
The Heat on Wasserman Isn’t Dying Down: LA City Council Approves Resolution to Reconsider Wasserman’s Position on LA28 Olympic Committee
"“This vote is just the latest example of Angelenos speaking out, loud and clear, against sexual violence and rape culture,” said Elisa Batista, Campaign Director at UltraViolet Action, a leading national women-led gender-justice organization. “We do not want someone affiliated with the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell representing the City of Los Angeles, let alone the entire country, on one of the world’s largest stages.”
“The leadership of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics should be free from any association with individuals connected to a child sexual abuse and trafficking operation—both morally and practically, given how critical these games are to Los Angeles and the entire country,” said Batista.
“Holding a position like Olympic Chairman is a privilege, not a right, and Wasserman does not deserve that right,” Batista continued. “Any excuses for keeping Casey Wasserman on the board are empty and a slap in the face to survivors everywhere.”"

Women’s, advocacy groups call on Apple, Google to drop X and Grok from app stores
"We are really imploring Apple and Google to take this extremely seriously," Jenna Sherman, UltraViolet's campaign director, told Reuters ahead of the letter's release.
