A recent, unsettling analysis by UltraViolet, a gender justice nonprofit, has pulled back the curtain on this shadowy world. Their report paints a stark picture: hundreds of accounts actively promoting and selling unregulated alternatives to legitimate GLP-1 medications. These aren’t just a few rogue actors; this is a significant, organized effort to capitalize on people’s desperation for weight loss.
A new report accuses TikTok of failing to appropriately moderate a growing "gray market" for GLP-1 weight loss drugs as they continue to surge in popularity. The content analysis, conducted by gender justice nonprofit UltraViolet, pinpointed hundreds of TikTok accounts promoting unregulated GLP-1 drugs, including GLP-1 alternatives advertised as "research-grade." Accounts often directed users off the platform to purchase drugs on WhatsApp, Discord, and Telegram.
Saturday’s event was co-hosted by the Women's March, UltraViolet, World Without Exploitation, NOW, the National Women's Law Center, FEMINIST, Feminist Generation and Time's Up Legal Defense Fund.

“This vote is just the latest example of Angelenos speaking out, loud and clear, against sexual violence and rape culture,” Batista said Friday. “We do not want someone affiliated with the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell representing the city of Los Angeles, let alone the entire country, on one of the world’s largest stages.”

“The leadership of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics should be free from any association with individuals connected to a child sexual abuse and trafficking operation—both morally and practically, given how critical these games are to Los Angeles and the entire country,” said Batista.
“Holding a position like Olympic Chairman is a privilege, not a right, and Wasserman does not deserve that right,” Batista continued. “Any excuses for keeping Casey Wasserman on the board are empty and a slap in the face to survivors everywhere.”"

National gender-justice organization UltraViolet echoes calls from L.A. Mayor Karen Bass to remove the chairman over Epstein ties.

The letters, part of a push to “Get Grok Gone,” coincide with the launch of UltraViolet’s Reclaim the Domain campaign, a broader fight against the nonconsensual creation and sharing of intimate images.
"We are really imploring Apple and Google to take this extremely seriously," Jenna Sherman, UltraViolet's campaign director, told Reuters ahead of the letter's release. "They are enabling a system in which thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people, particularly women and children, are being sexually abused through the help of their own app stores."
