Movie Studios Should Suspend Johnny Depp Pending Full Investigation into Domestic Violence Charges, Says Women’s Group
Statement from Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet, a national women’s advocacy organization:
“Sadly, we live in a country where one-in-four women experience domestic violence in their lifetimes and too often they suffer in silence as their abusers go unpunished.
“UltraViolet’s more than 700,000 members applaud Heard for speaking out about her abuse, especially in the face of shameful, victim-blaming attacks from Depp’s legal team and allies.
“With new evidence surfacing this week, including disturbing photographs – it is critical that Hollywood movie studios takes a firm stance against domestic violence and immediately suspend Depp from all future films pending a full investigation into these charges.”
