Mobile Billboard Circles Women’s Convention Calling for #AbortionAccessNow

UltraViolet Commissions SnapChat Filters, Mobile Billboard for Women’s Convention in Detroit with Goal of Calling Attention to the Fact that 57 Abortion Restrictions Have Been Enacted in 2017 Alone

DETROIT, MICHIGAN — Starting Friday, October 27th, and running through Sunday, October 29th, UltraVIolet, a national women’s advocacy group, has commissioned a mobile billboard to circle the Women’s Convention at the Cobo Center in Detroit advocating for safe abortion access, and calling attention to the more than 57 restrictions that have been enacted to restrict abortion access this year alone. The mobile billboard will read:

Hey Politicians, Women Lead the Resistance. Abortion Access is Non-Negotiable.

In conjunction with the billboard, UltraViolet has also created UltraViolet a custom SnapChat filter on that will be available inside and around the Cobo Center.

“The majority of America strongly supports a woman’s right to access reproductive health care options, including abortion. But despite this simple fact, much of the conversation around abortion in our country is dominated by right-wing politicians pushing an anti-woman agenda designed to restrict a woman’s access to these constitutionally-protected reproductive health services. So much so that 57 new abortion restrictions have been enacted across the country, in just 2017 alone,” explained Karin Roland, Chief Campaigns Officer at UltraViolet. “This weekend, we’re reminding politicians that millions of women nationwide are ready to defend their rights; including access to safe, legal abortions.”
