UltraViolet on the Multiple Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Neil DeGrasse Tyson

Women’s Group Calls on Hayden Planetarium to Remove Tyson As Director

Statement from Shaunna Thomas, co-founder and Executive Director of UltraViolet, a leading national women’s group, on the allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Neil DeGrasse Tyson:

“We believe survivors and sexual abusers must be held accountable.

“The Hayden Planetarium must immediately remove Tyson from his position as Director.  Failing to do so would undermine the safety and well-being of the people that he works with, as well as send the message to the entire American Museum of Natural History about how seriously they take multiple allegations of abuse against an employee.

“Fox Broadcasting Company and the National Geographic Channel should also drop Tyson from the series and immediately suspend the upcoming release of new episodes featuring Tyson.”
