UltraViolet Reacts to Domestic Violence Charges Against Former Vice-Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin’s Son

Track Palin, the son of former vice-presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin, was arrested Monday night for domestic violence chargers. According to a Wasilla Police press release, an investigation revealed that Track Palin committed a domestic violence assault on a female, interfered with her ability to report a crime of domestic violence, and possessed a firearm while intoxicated. The charges come a day before Sarah Palin formally endorsed Donald Trump.

The following is a statement from Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet:
“There should be no special treatment when it comes to domestic violence. An endorsement from Sarah Palin shouldn’t take away from the charges against Track Palin and Donald Trump should take notice. Unfortunately, this type of abuse is far too common. Every nine seconds a woman is assaulted or beaten in the United States, and we cannot turn a blind eye. Trump should denounce Track Palin’s behavior, and bring the much needed attention to this epidemic.”
