Nearly 50,000 Call for Roger Ailes to Be Fired Over Mounting Evidence that he Sexually Harassed Female Employees at Fox News
New Report Says that Megyn Kelly Was Also Sexually Harassed by Ailes at Fox News, Donald Trump is Advising Ailes
Statement from Karin Roland, Chief Campaigns Officer at UltraViolet, a national women’s advocacy organization, on reports that Megyn Kelly was also sexually harassed by Fox News CEO Roger Ailes and that Donald Trump is advising Ailes on his case:
“It is unsurprising that Donald Trump, a notorious misogynist, would play an active role in defending Ailes, a serial sexual harasser, in allegations against him by Fox News employees. Trump has benefitted tremendously from Roger Ailes support at Fox News over the years and it should give all Americans pause to see Trump actively defending Ailes and the toxic, harassment-filled workplace that he created during his tenure as CEO of Fox News.
“With mounting evidence that Ailes sexually-harassed a number of female employees at Fox News – including Gretchen Carlson and Megyn Kelly – it is long past time that James and Lachlan Murdoch remove him from his post at the news agency and begin the process of making Fox News a safe and harassment-free workplace for all of it’s employees. Ailes’s continued presence at Fox News puts the investigation and the safety of Fox News employees at risk.”
Nearly 50,000 people have signed a petition from UltraViolet, calling on Fox News CEO Roger Ailes to be removed immediately, and for Fox News to conduct a full investigation into allegations of sexual assault and harassment at the network and against Ailes.
