Women’s Group Says Newly Released Video of Trump Proves He’s a Dangerous, Predatory Misogynist

Donald Trump brags about kissing, groping and trying to have sex with women in the 2005 video — “when you’re a star, they let you do it”

Earlier today, The Washington Post released a hot mic video of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump bragging about his sexual exploits to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush in 2005. The video features Trump making extremely lewd comments about womenincluding discussions of kissing, groping and sexually harassing women, saying that “when you’re a star, they let you do it.”

In reaction to the video, Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet Action, a national women’s advocacy organization, issued the following statement:

“Donald Trump is a dangerous, predatory misogynist and this video further proves that he should never be allowed to step foot in the White House. In the newly released video, Trump brags about sexually harassing and assaulting women. While comments like these aren’t surprising coming from a man that has built a presidential campaign and career on denigrating women, this should horrify every American.

“Republicans like Paul Ryan, who have endorsed Trump’s campaign, need to make a decision about whether loyalty to a disgrace like Donald Trump is more important than showing basic respect for their own wives, mothers, daughters sisters and constituents.

“Trump’s reaction to the video is even more disturbing. Simply put, comments like these aren’t ‘locker room banter’ – they’re an embodiment of a culture that normalizes sexual harassment and violence against women. This video, and Trump’s reaction to it, should tell every voter in the country all they need to know about Donald Trump and how his administration would treat women.”
