UltraViolet Action Calls on Senators Capito, Heller, and Murkowski to Stop Trumpcare, Says New Senate Bill Is The Same As Old Bill: Will Take Away Care From Millions
Moments ago, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans released a new version of their health care legislation, which would repeal Affordable Care Act. The revised bill still strip health insurance coverage from tens of millions of Americans and increase premium costs by roughly 20% next year. Despite the bill being overwhelming unpopular, McConnell is aiming for a vote on it next week.
Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet Action, responded to the revised Senate health care legislation, explaining:
“This latest Senate bill is just as bad as it’s previous versions – it will cause tens of millions of people to lose their care and will destroy, protection for people with pre-existing conditions.
“Senators Heller, Murkowski, and Capito have already pledged to oppose this bill – now they must keep their word. We simply cannot afford to play political games when lives are on the line.”
In response to the revised legislation, this Saturday, July 15th, UltraViolet Action, has commissioned planes to fly over Las Vegas, NV, Anchorage, AK, and Charleston, WV, with banners urging Senators Dean Heller, Lisa Murkowski and Shelley Moore Capito to keep their word and continue to oppose the Republican health care plan.
