UltraViolet Demands Full Accountability as Tate Brothers Face Extradition

Today, following the arrest of Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami on a sealed U.S. Marshals warrant tied to a British extradition request for rape and trafficking charges, UltraViolet issued the following statement from Nicole Regalado, Vice President of Campaigns:
“For years, survivors and allies have been raising the alarm on Andrew and Tristan Tate’s abusive and predatory behavior towards women. We said it when the brothers were building an online empire on the promise of male dominance. We said it when Andrew Tate was pulled off ‘Big Brother’ after a video appeared to show him assaulting a woman. We said it through the Romanian case, through years of delay, and when pressure from the Trump administration cleared their path back to Miami last year while survivors waited for accountability. Today’s arrest is a reminder that survivors were right, and that the truth doesn’t expire just because powerful men have lawyers, followers, and friends in high places.
“Let us be clear about who Andrew and Tristan Tate are to the women who allege they were harmed: not internet personalities, not ‘polarizing figures,’ not culture-war symbols. Men credibly accused of rape and trafficking. The brothers’ attorney is already calling these charges ‘filth and slander.’ We’ve heard that script before. It’s the same script used against nearly every survivor who has ever come forward, and we reject it.
“Andrew and Tristan Tate are not welcome in Miami. They are not welcome in London. They are not welcome in any city, on any platform, or in any political movement that claims to care about ending sexual violence. We call on the Department of Justice to process this extradition request without delay or political interference.
“To the women whose allegations brought us to this moment: we see you, we believe you, and we have your backs.”
In 2025, UltraViolet carried out an on-the-ground effort in Miami to warn women of the Tate brothers’ presence, using posters. The organization took these steps after The Financial Times reported that the Trump administration had asked Romanian officials to return the Tates’ passports to them and lift the travel restrictions against them while their criminal case proceeds in court.
