Arisha Hatch, the interim executive director of the women’s advocacy group UltraViolet, condemned the verdict as “a stain on a criminal justice system that for decades has failed to hold accountable abusers” and called it “an indictment of a culture in which not believing women and victims of sexual assault remains endemic.”
“This is a decisive moment for our justice system, one which threatens to undo the sacrifice of courageous survivors who stepped forward to share their stories in this trial, as well as to all those abused by Diddy who weren’t able to,” said Arisha Hatch, Ultraviolet's interim executive director
After an anti-choice group released a series of deceptively edited videos attacking Planned Parenthood’s fetal tissue donation program, UltraViolet released this video to prove how easy it is to manipulate footage to fit any agenda.
“People are taking notice that Netflix is expecting praise for extending parental leave to its higher-paid employees, yet it doesn’t extend those benefits to the hourly employees who need it most,” Nita Chaudhary, cofounder of UltraViolet, said in a statement.
Workers in Netflix’s DVD division are not eligible for its new unlimited parental leave policy.

UltraViolet, a group advocating an expansion of women’s rights, is among those gathering on the steps of the Justice Department today, and will bring a mobile billboard broadcasting their demands. “If we want to learn what actually happened to Sandra in her jail cell we need Attorney General Lynch and the Department of Justice to get involved,” wrote Nita Chaudhary, the group’s co-founder, in a press release today. “The deaths of black women at the hands of police, with no accountability, needs to stop. We can’t leave the investigation of Sandra Bland’s death in the hands of local officials.”
UltraViolet is joining the hundreds of thousands of people praising TLC for canceling “19 Kids and Counting.” The show has been embroiled in controversy since May when news broke that Josh Duggar, one of the show’s stars, had been accused of molesting several young girls in the early 2000s.
UltraViolet will protest the parade to pressure FIFA to pay women soccer players as much as men. “Our message to FIFA is simple: equal pay for equal play,” said UltraViolet co-founder Nita Chaudhary in a press release. “FIFA’s antiquated pay discrimination isn’t acceptable anymore.”
Ultraviolet, a women’s rights advocacy organization, started a digital campaign on Monday to press FIFA to pay women’s soccer teams fairly for equal work. Roughly 60,000 people signed the campaign in the first 24 hours — more than twice the signatures a typical Ultraviolet campaign receives on its first day.
Despite the exposure, Lloyd and her teammates will likely struggle to gain the salary and endorsement windfalls enjoyed by their male counterparts. Despite on-field success, female players in the United States face an uphill battle to catch up to the financial success of men’s soccer.
